This simple app turns your Android phone into a QR Code Scanner device.
The user clicks the QR Code Scanner App icon and they are taken directly to the Main App Screen. Instructions are given above the button to "Click Below to Scan QR Code". When the user clicks the button labeled "Scan QR" the app opens up another screen with the Camera full screen with the wording "Scan" on the bottom of the screen in a horizontal view. The app can be used in Portrait or Horizontal style. The Text, Button and Toast message will adjust to the position of the device.
Once the QR Code is acquired its is translated back on the main screen in a Toast pop up message at the bottom giving the user the information from the scanned code. Examples are shown below with the process and detailed information about the test QR codes used to test the app's performance. The examples include multiple lines of text and url's. Note when URL's are scanned a tiny url is given back which takes the user to the actual address.
This app uses the open source project ZXing (short for Zebra Crossing) to allow the QR scanner to work with the built in Camera.
A Simple easy to use app to play with.
